On February 6, 2024, Director Mr. Hu Baomin, Deputy Directors Mr. Li Xiaohua and Ms. Yan Ying, as well as Director of Media Convergence Communications Department Mr. Wang Yu, Director of German Language Communications Department Ms. Wu Xiaohong, Director of English Language Communications Department Ms. Zhang Hui, and Deputy Director of Turkish Language Communications Department Ms. Liu Jia from the CICG Center for Europe and Africa (China Today) visited Taihe Institute (TI). They discussed future cooperation opportunities with TI Vice Chairman Mr. Wang Xiaobo, Editor-in-Chief Mr. Song Xiaofeng, and Vice Editor-in-Chief Mr. Li He.
Both parties look forward to leveraging their channels, capabilities, and resources to carry out multi-form, multi-language, and multimedia cooperation in national and regional studies, international exchange activities, and localization of international media convergence, to expand the understanding of China abroad and increase the appeal and effectiveness of China's international communication.
About the Center for Europe and Africa
The Center for Europe and Africa, or CICG Europe-Africa, is a media complex dedicated to international communication with a special focus on Europe, Africa and West Asia. It was established in 2021 based on China Today, a magazine launched in 1952, integrating with the African business operations of Beijing Review.
The center publishes and distributes periodicals including China Today (English, French, Arabic, Turkish, Chinese versions), ChinAfrica (English, French), Dialogue Chine-France (French) and Potala (Tibetan). It operates eight websites in Chinese, English, French, Arabic and German, and more than 10 multi-language overseas social media accounts, produces various audiovisual products, and conducts three-dimensional integrated communication of publications, websites and social media.
It also carries out communication research, international communication and cooperation with countries in Western Europe, West Asia and Africa, and organizes Sino-foreign cultural exchange activities by planning bilateral and multilateral seminars and co-hosting media forums. The center also manages the daily operations of its overseas offices in the Middle East and Africa.
