The attendees address the seminar
Beijing - March 19, 2021 - A delegation of the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in China visited the Taihe Institute today to exchange ideas and views on the current political development in Ethiopia and its regional issues including the law enforcement measures and humanitarian assistance in Tigray region, the Sudan-Ethiopia border dispute, Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and China-Ethiopia partnerships.

H. E. Teshome Toga Chanaka, the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to China delivered an exhaustive introduction on both the domestic political context of Ethiopia and challenges the country is facing with Sudan–Ethiopia border and on the negotiation of GERD.
Li Rong
Li Rong, Senior Fellow of Taihe Institute, together with Zhang Yongpeng, Research Fellow of China-Africa Institute, and Shen Shiwei, CGTN Editor and Columnist also attended the seminar.
Concurrently, the Ambassador spoke highly of current China-Ethiopia relations and the pragmatic collaborations conducted between the two countries.
He acknowledged China’s great support to the eastern African nation in its national and international affairs and cited China’s recent assistance in:
China and Ethiopia share a long tradition of friendship with fruitful results driven by an equitable partnership between the two countries.
Taihe Institute will continue to enhance its connections with the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in China, expanding the high level of exchanges and collaborations that will create and deliver milestones in the promotion of China-Ethiopia relations as well as development of China-Africa relations.
