On October 18, a ceremony was held to welcome Mr. Hu Zhengyue as a senior fellow of the Taihe Institute.
Mr. Hu Zhengyue is Vice-Chairman of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and Vice-President of the China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA). He has been engaged in diplomatic work for more than 40 years, successively serving as Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Singapore, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, Director-General of the Department for Diplomatic Missions Abroad of the MFA, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the MFA, Assistant Foreign Minister, and Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the MFA in Macao Special Administrative Region. Mr. Hu has contributed a lot to the development of China’s diplomacy.
The joining of Mr. Hu Zhengyue will further strengthen the research capacity of the Taihe Institute in, among others, the Asian area, especially in Southeast Asian area.
