Taihe Young International Scholars Association’s First Offline Discussion of 2020

On May 20, members of the Taihe Youth International Scholars Association (TYISA) held their first offline discussion of 2020 on climate change and other related issues. Dr Kaddour Chilabi from Algeria delivered a keynote speech on the topic of “A nation has more than just people, a forest has more than just trees”.

The young scholars agreed that climate change and human survival are two sides of the same coin, and that education plays a crucial role in guiding the next generation to raise environmental awareness and to develop habits of environmental protection, so as to help mitigate climate change. Desertification control, forest fire prevention, paperless office, and intermittent rest given to human habitats, among others, will have an important impact on promoting sustainable development.

In the future, the Taihe Institute will continue to expand the scale of TYISA, enrich exchange and sharing activities in both online and offline forms, expand the scope and depth of topics discussed, and build platforms to encourage the international youth talents in China to share their wisdom.
