General Wang Yumin Joins Taihe Institute as Senior Fellow

On May 7, 2020, a ceremony was held to celebrate General Wang Yumin’s appointment as a senior fellow of the Taihe Institute.
 
General Wang Yumin, who joined the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in 1972, is currently Chairman of the Fourth Council of the Chinese Foundation for Prevention of STD and AIDS, and the Vice President of the Third Council of the China Reproductive Health Industry Association. He formerly worked as a lecturer at the Air Force Medical University, Minister of Science and Technology at the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, and Deputy Minister of Health at the General Logistics Department of the PLA (2008-2013). General Wang has, for many years, focused on biosecurity management and disease prevention and control, undertaken a number of major scientific research projects for the Chinese government and the PLA, and is an authoritative expert in the field of epidemic prevention and control in China.
 
 
Amid COVID-19’s continued spread throughout the world, China’s national biosecurity system needs to be improved and upgraded. The Taihe Institute will continue to focus on the latest significant developments in public health security and contribute powerful insights in related areas for the benefit of China and the world.
